Guidelines for coursework 1
General information
The goal of coursework 1 is to summarize a book chapter or review paper on a topic of the module. Your task is to summarize the paper, identify and define the key concepts, discuss it critically and develop some review questions aimed at understanding the concepts adressed in the text.
To stimulate teamwork, the coursework is carried out in tandems of two students, one which one is responsible for the written summary, and the other for creating and giving the oral presentation.
Each student is part of two different teams and is responsible for the written summary of the paper, and the oral presentation of another paper.
Why work in teams? One reason is to have a partner for the discussion of the chapter and to identify the arguments made, and also to have two different perspectives, which often helps in the criticism of written literature.
The main goals of this coursework is to utilize the knowledge provided in the class for a critical discussion of a book chapter or paper aimed at a general audience, to summarize it and to evaluate it cricially.
